Telematics Installation Trailer Technicians (Multiple Locations)

Phillips Connect is seeking skilled Telematics Installation Trailer Technicians to join our team. Candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting telematic technology on various trailer makes and models. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform telematic technology installations on various trailer makes and models, ensuring proper wiring and connections
Verify installations using the Phillips Connect Tech Assist, Connect1 and Bluetooth applications
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain functionality of existing technology installed on customer trailers, ensuring they meet operational standards
Review and diagnose issues and perform necessary repairs
Maintain accurate records of all installations, maintenance, repair work and inventory
Remotely collaborate with other technicians and staff to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service
Use diagnostic tools, including multimeters, to analyze and interpret system data
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in telematics technology
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines
100% travel within local market

EDUCATION/LICENSE

High School Diploma or equivalent required, with additional Technician/Electronics training or education preferred
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of experience working in the trucking industry preferred
2+ years of experience installing GPS tracking or other technology preferred
Strong understanding of trailer mechanics and 12-volt DC electrical systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Excellent problem-solving skills and thoughtful attention to detail in work
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Must be able to lift 20lbs daily
Must have reliable service truck or van that will transport required tools, including a ladder
Must have a smart phone that can run necessary install and validation applications
Must successfully complete Phillips Connect’s Telematics Installation and Technical Service Program

Field Engineer

Phillips Connect is seeking a Field Engineer to join the team. The Field Engineer will be responsible for training customers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and 3rd party installers in the installation of Phillips Connect products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform telematic technology installations on various trailer makes and models, ensuring proper wiring and connections
Managing telematics installations at assigned OEMs
Managing pilot installations
Leading “train the trainer” sessions
Providing field support to other internal groups
Identifying opportunities to improve products for better performance and ease of installation

EDUCATION/LICENSE

High School Diploma or equivalent
At least two years of related experience required

QUALIFICATIONS

Mechanical aptitude
Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits
Creativity with a willingness to learn
Sense of mission and willingness to work within a team
Ability to travel 10+ days per month and otherwise work productively from home
Experience in the transportation industry preferred
Experience in the telematics industry preferred

Sales Engineer

The Sales Engineer leverages in-depth knowledge of Phillips Connect products and processes to meet both company and client sales objectives. Key responsibilities include preparing and delivering product presentations to existing and potential customers, as well as project scoping and management. This role also enhances sales engineering effectiveness by identifying and addressing immediate and future challenges, recommending solutions, and executing directives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Serves customers by identifying their needs and engineering adaptations of Phillips Connect products, equipment, and services.
Writes and distributes Customer Release Notes.
Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and existing Phillips Connect customers and others in positions to understand service needs.
Establishes and services accounts by identifying potential customers and organizing sales call schedules.
Provides technical and engineering information about products, services, or equipment by answering questions and requests.
Gains customer acceptance by demonstrating cost reductions and operational improvements.
Develops customer staff by providing technical information and training.
Manages large hardware and cloud services projects.
Prepares cost estimates by reviewing customer documents and consulting with engineers, architects, and other professionals.
Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios in customer environments and proposing equipment, process, or material changes.
Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues, recommending solutions, and implementing directives.
Submits orders by coordinating with technical support and costing engineering changes.
Completes Market Requirement Documents (MRD) for each new product proposal.
Develops Bills of Materials (B.O.M.) for each product or kit.
Prepares sales engineering reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data and trends in engineering and applications.
Performs other duties as needed to support company success.

EDUCATION/LICENSE

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.), Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred.
